Audrey Mae Mary Glenn

April 16, 1922 - February 23, 2022

Audrey M. Glenn, daughter of Fred and Evelyn Johndrow, passed away in Laguna Hills, California on February 23, 2022. Audrey was born on April 16, 1922 in Crystal Falls, Michigan. She was blessed with 5 siblings: Les, Francis, Easter, Jane and Margaret. Her family was always so important throughout her life and, even though she was predeceased by all of her siblings, she cherished her nieces and nephews to the end. Audrey moved to Chicago at the age of twenty and met her husband of fifty years, Bruce Glenn. They had one daughter, Sandra (Sandy). After Bruce was discharged from the Army, they headed West and settled in Pasadena for nine years and then moved to Burlingame, California where they lived for 25 years. Their last move was to Laguna Woods in 1990 where Bruce passed away in 1994. Audrey was blessed to meet Shell Weinberg and they were soul mates for over 25 years. During her adult years she was a loyal Sears employee for over 44 years and managed the Credit Department in Hillsdale until her retirement in 1985. Audrey enjoyed good health and was active to the end. She became an avid table tennis player into her 90's. She was a talented piano player, playing by ear, and also quite fond of learning intricate enameling. To the end she stayed in touch with family and fiends by email and loved playing her favorite games on the computer. Her crossword puzzle expertise was rivaled by no one. Family parties will miss her funny antics that always brought laughter and admiration for her endless spunk. She loved her friends and neighbors and was always bringing a small gift or "treat" as she would call it when she visited. Her love and caring for all animals was well known and appreciated, especially by her own, King and Lisa.. Audrey's devotion to the Virgin Mary was a mainstay in her life as was her religion. She felt blessed to live a happy and healthy life for almost 100 years. Audrey is survived by her daughter Sandra O'Rourke (John Amato), grandson, Todd Bennett (Melanie), granddaughter, Ashley Carlton (Stephen), and the light of her life, her four great-grandchildren, Jack and Lainie Bennett, Madden and Sawyer Carlton and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Bruce, her parents, her five siblings and her soulmate, Shell Weinberg, who passed three months earlier. Mom, we will miss your phone calls, birthday cards and the singing Birthday Bear. You will always remain in our hearts and memories. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Nicholas Catholic Church on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity in her name.
