Gaylind Rai Greene, 55, beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend, passed into the arms of Jesus, Friday, April 22, 2022, with her loving family by her side. Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Trinity Cristo Rey Lutheran Church, 902 S. Broadway, Santa Ana, CA 92701. Interment: 12 p.m. Fairhaven Memorial Park & Mortuary at 1702 Fairhaven Ave. Santa Ana, CA 92705 Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be shared with Trinity Cristo Rey Lutheran Church in Santa Ana. Gaylind was born on August 21, 1966 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Santa Ana, California to James Willie Greene Jr. and Josie Mae Greene. Gaylind was baptized on April 18th, 1970 and confirmed her faith in 1980 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Santa Ana, California. Gaylind was an active participant in the ministry and stewardship of God’s word by serving as a Sunday School Teacher, and as an Adult/Youth Choir member and director. She was an extremely talented vocalist and musician who willingly shared her talents through performance and instruction. Educated grades K-12 in the Lutheran School System, Gaylind was accepted and attended Smith College in North Hampton, Massachusetts in 1984. Soon after, Gaylind embarked upon a distinguished career as an Account Executive with Standard Paper Company, Unisource, Waxie Sanitary Supply, and most recently, Home Depot Pro and HD Supply. What Gaylind loved most was Family, and it all begins with her pride and joy, her daughter, Laivan. From dance studios, music recitals, and athletic fields to swimming pools, motion picture sets and parades at West Point, Gaylind was ever present, supporting and encouraging in Laivan’s every endeavor. In the eyes of all of her nieces and nephews, “Auntie Gay” was Captain Fun! She personally took each of them to their first visit to Disneyland and numerous adventures across the country. She enjoyed nothing more than to see them smile! Gaylind is preceded in life eternal by her father, James Willie Greene, Jr and her brother, Gil Wendell Greene. Gaylind leaves to cherish her legacy, her Daughter Laivan Greene of Lakewood, California; To celebrate her life and love she leaves her mother Josie Mae Greene of Azle, Texas; Brothers, Gregory Wade Greene and his wife, Tracey, of Killeen, Texas, Gaylord Wayne Greene and wife, Roxana, of Charleston, South Carolina, Geoff Willie Greene and wife, Ofelia, of Aliso Viejo, California; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, loved ones and Brothers and Sisters in Christ.
