Kamil Al Hakim
April 30, 1954 - May 26, 2021
Kamil AL-Hakim passed away on May 26, 2021, after a short battle with cancer. As throughout his entire life, Kamil was a warrior until the end. Kamil was born and raised in Syria. He always spoke fondly of his childhood enjoying time with his grandparents, parents, brothers, and sisters. Kamil was always challenging himself, which led him to attend college in Germany. His next challenge was immigrating to the United States, where he became a citizen in 1996. Kamil met the love of his life, Gloria, at a single’s dance in Orange County, and they married in 1992. During their relationship, Gloria led Kamil to know the Lord, and they attended church regularly. Kamil loved Gloria so much that he personally cared for her until her passing in 2019. Kamil had an extreme passion for the Martial Arts. With no formal training, he started teaching small groups of friends in Syria, then studied several Arts in Germany before deciding to concentrate on Inyo Ryu Kenpo Karate Jyutsu Do. Kamil never stopped learning other Arts, and even created his own, The Way. Kamil also loved to cook healthy meals, so he would often have friends over for dinner where everyone enjoyed socializing, and the vast amounts of leftovers. Kamil will be honored at the El Toro Memorial Park in Lake Forest on June 11, 2021 at Noon. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, to which Kamil was an avid supporter.
