Akhtar (Apar) Navaei was born on May 25, 1926 and passed away on October 28, 2016 at the age of 90 in Laguna Hills, California. She is survived by her daughters: Shahla, Kamelia, Mandana, Parisa, and their spouses: Parviz, Djalal, Ali Reza, Hashem, and her grandchildren: Amir, Syavash, Avid, Pausha, Arash, Khashayar, and Maryam.

Apar was born in Tehran, Iran to her parents Mohammad Rafi Navaei and Maryam Ashrafi. In 1952 she married her husband, Nasser Amiri in Tehran, Iran. After her husband's passing in October 2010, she spent most of her times living with her daughters in Tehran, Germany, and California.

Apar loved to read, and taking long walks. In her younger days she loved to go horseback riding, and she was an avid swimmer. But her favorite hobby was going to the casinos to play the slot machines.
Apar was a strong, independent woman who loved her daughters and adored her grandchildren.
