Albert G. Suhajda, born January 27, 1947, in Chicago, IL. Passed away from leukemia and bladder cancer on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. He battled the cancer without complaint until his death. He was not confined to hospice or any care center. He lived a full life on his own despite the cancer.
Al was a quiet and humble person. He lived a simple life.
He was drafted into the U.S Army during the Vietnam era in the 70's. He was stationed in Germany as a cook. He traveled around Europe during his tenure.
He then joined the Air Force reserves where he was a member for over twenty years.
Al was a proud veteran.
He graduated from Southern Illinois University with a bachelor's degree.
He worked most of his career for the Federal Government as a clerk.
Al was very religious and practiced his Catholic faith throughout his life. He attended daily mass and received communion. He was a Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. He volunteered where and when he was able, esp. at the food pantry at St. Timothy's church.
Al developed a love for cars and motorcycles in his early years. He frequently worked on car overhauls.
He loved to take extended motorcycle trips along the west coast with his brother Tom.
He liked to visit car shows throughout California.
He was also a Ho train enthusiast. In his younger years he was an avid bicycle rider and he dabbled in photography
Al had a wonderful community of friends who were always available to assist him as he fought the cancer.
