Allan Leslie Kaminsky, of Irvine, CA, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2022, at the age of 81, surrounded by his loving family.

Allan was born in Brooklyn, NY to Jack and Emily Kaminsky. He received his Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering at Columbia University in 1970 and his Doctor of Medicine in 1976 from the University of Colorado. Allan was a practicing anesthesiologist for over 40 years, supporting patients in Utah, Massachusetts, and Arizona during that time. He also combined his love of technology, electronics, and medicine at MicroCor, a company he co-founded in Utah.

Ever the Renaissance man, Allan was lovingly known as a girl dad and grandpa, a jazz enthusiast, a horrible driver, a musical theatre nerd, a Captain in the Navy Reserve, a lifelong learner, a devoted Amazon customer, a multi-decade Burmese cat parent, a storyteller, and a matzo ball soup guy, among other things. He was a sensitive, stubborn, kind man whom his family loved very much.

Allan was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister (Phyllis Karess), and son (Aubrey Alexander Sorterup-Kaminsky). He is survived by his wife, Deborah Sorterup; four daughters, Tatiana Kaminsky (husband Christopher Mark Hill), Larissa Kaminsky (husband John Jared Claghorn), Ekaterina Kaminsky, and Sasha Kaminsky; three granddaughters, Amelia, Ayla, and Josephine; and his beloved Burmese cat, Sandi.

Private services will be held for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Boston Children's Hospital ( http://giving.childrenshospital.org/ ). Allan had a passion for children, and was incredible at providing care for young people - the Boston Children's Hospital is the perfect place for his legacy to thrive.
