Obituary

Anibal Itamar Vicente-Aguilar, 47, born in San Clemente California, on July 11, 1977, passed away in Mission Viejo, California on February 11, 2025 from complications of a pneumonia. He is survived by his wife, Celina, his father, Virgilio, his mother, Alejandra, his brother Cris, his aunts Pam, Gloria and Tere, his uncles Fred, Kurt, and Marcial, his cousins Carlos,James, Javier, Luis, Marcial and Sam, and by his students both current and former from Compton Unified School district, where he worked as a teacher for the last 16 years, with a career in education of 21 and a half years. A life-long resident of San Juan Capistrano, Anibal enjoyed traveling, both locally down scenic roads with windy curves, and places far away to enjoy the beauty, such as when he rented a classic car to drive from Paris to Rome with his wife to visit Vatican City. Anibal enjoyed driving many red Camaros and Black Silverados, none of which looked like each other or the norm, as he airbrushed wonderful images of Mesoamerican culture and portraits of people he cared for like his beloved wife on the hoods, doors and tailgates of his cars. He was a self taught artist, who developed his skill set in watercolors and aerosols. Under the name of Itamar, he ran an independently owned business as an airbrush artist, creating customized images for his clients. He enjoyed all kinds of cars, from the Hot Wheels he played with as a child to the models he painted and left behind on his desk. In spite of the challenges he faced as a Second Language Learner of English and in his battle with mental health from the age of 17, Anibal pushed ahead, while keeping in mind the words he once saw in a church when traveling, "El cielo se gana DANDO no negando" (Heaven is earned by giving, not denying).
