Barbara June Bellhouse, age 88, born June 27, 1929 in Janesville WI., passed suddenly at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Anaheim on Monday, April 2, 2018.Barbara was lovingly known as Mom to her children, Grandma to her grandkids, and great grandkids, Bobbie and Barb to her many friends.The only child born to Morris Hansen and Florence Wilber, Barbara moved to California in 1947.She met and married Charles McNary (passed) with whom she had three children Sandra, Steven (passed) and David (passed).She met Robert (Bob) Bellhouse in 1973 and after a short courtship, they were married in September 1973.

She worked as a Nuclear Medical Technician at Granada Hills Hospital, and Encino Hospital until her retirement in 1993.She is survived by her husband Bob, her daughter Sandra Gibbons, grandchildren Shawn, Derek and June, Daughter in-law Laurie, step son David Bellhouse, and his wife Kimmie, step daughter Trish Ike and her husband Lyle, and their children Trent, Nick and Jenny.She had six great grandsons, James, Gage, Tyler, Hunter, Spenser, and Connor, and two great great grandsons, Kaysen Layne and Graysen Rhett.

Barbara's greatest pleasures in life were spending time with family and serving others.Barbara and Bob spent 24 years of their retirement in Elephant Butte, NM, serving the veterans that lived in the community Veteran Nursing Home.Barbara loved to cook and once a month they prepared a home cooked dinner for the Veterans confined to the Nursing Home, and on Thanksgiving prepared a feast for the community at large feeding sometimes 300 people.

Barbara loved their years of camping trips in their RV with their many friends from Elephant Butte, where she loved to fish, even if they did not always catch anything.She loved the time spent with her many friends and made them wherever she went.She was an active member of Desert Springs Lutheran Church in Truth or Consequences, NM with Reverend Peter Cacoperdo for many years.

Barbara's trip of her life was when she and her daughter went to Denmark to visit the birth place of her father in 2007.

Barbara and Bob returned to CA to be closer to their family in their remaining years in May of 2017.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 27415 School Road, Lake Arrowhead, CA 92352 followed by a celebration of Barbara's life at 199 Zermatt Dr., Crestline, CA 92325.Barbara's ashes will be sprinkled in Alaska where she had been looking forward to a Salmon fishing trip with her family.
