Kinner, Barbara born June 11, 1942 made her transition May 15, 2014 at the age of 71 at her home in Fallbrook, CA. Barbara goes to join her beloved daughter Tiffany. She is survived by her Grandson Colden Pipek, her sisters Bea Peters & Donna Marchand and her many nieces and nephews. Bobbi as she was known to those who loved her also leaves behind friends to multiple to count.
Barbie was born in Minnesota, the youngest of four children to Jeanette and Rodrick Marchand. But made her home in Orange, California where she met and married David Kinner. Together they had their daughter Tiffany who was the light in both her parent's eyes. Later she would move to Belen, New Mexico, finally returning to California and settling in San Diego County.
Barbie attended California State University at Fullerton where she received a Bachelor's of Science degree and became a Registered Nurse. She spent the better part of 45 years working in Critical Care, Emergency and eventually Hospice. Her dedication to her profession is evidenced by the many lives she assisted throughout her career.
Barbie had an extreme love of travel and visited such places as Paris, Costa Rica, the Caribbean, Mexico all over the United States; her favorite places of Hawaii, New York, New Orleans and New Mexico were frequented many times.
Barbie's passion was flowers, she had fresh flowers in her home every day, and most of the flower markets in San Diego County knew her by name. She once said "I would give up any other luxury to have fresh flowers". Her passion prompted her to take up floral arranging and it brought her extreme joy to arrange flowers for weddings, church services and other special events. You could always tell which flowers Barbie made because they were as unique as she was. Though difficult to choose, Lizianthis which she said looked like "paper roses" was her favorite flower.
Barbie was a Practitioner with the Centers for Spiritual Living and began studies to become a Minister. During this time she joined Toastmasters where she received multiple awards and recognitions for her speaking ability.
Having survived breast cancer three times, she was also an advocate for breast cancer awareness and early detection. She attended the Susan G. Komen annual event for the past 25 years where she could be seen sporting her survivor pink visor and t-shirt.
Barbie is preceded in death by her parents Jeanette & Rodrick Sr., her older brother Rodrick Jr., her ex-husband, David Kinner and their daughter Tiffany. As well as pets Banger, Tinkerbell, Misha, Maximillian and Muffin.
