Bart Merlin "Pete" Jolin, 86, passed away peacefully at his home in Laguna Woods, California, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, following pneumonia and related complications.

Born on November 7, 1939, in Whitefish, Montana, Bart was the son of Dorothy Laramore and Frank Jolin. His family later moved to Minot, North Dakota, where he grew up and attended high school. After graduation, he moved to Seattle, Washington, beginning his career with the Boeing Company. A few years later, Bart shifted into the restaurant industry, where he excelled in several corporate executive positions for major restaurant chains.

Throughout his life, Bart lived in Minot, ND; Seattle, WA; and later in Anaheim and Laguna Woods, CA.

In his younger years, Bart was an avid tennis player. He and his beloved wife Margaret especially enjoyed their time at their Palm Springs condo, where they played tennis and cherished time together. Bart later became an accomplished bridge player and remained passionate about travel. No matter where life took him, he faithfully returned to Tacoma, Washington every Christmas to spend time with his family—a tradition he treasured.

Bart is survived by his daughter, Pamela Jolin Hoover, and her husband, Duane Hoover; his sister Joann Myers; his brother Lawrence Bean and wife Songcha Bean; and his sister Georgie Heath and husband Bill Heath. He was predeceased by his devoted spouse, Margaret Jolin.

A service honoring Bart's life will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at McCormick & Son Mortuary, 25000 Moulton Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA.

Open-casket viewing: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Closed-casket memorial service: 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Graveside burial: 2:00 p.m. at Good Shepard Cemetery, 8301 Talbert Avenue, Huntington Beach, CA.

Bart "Pete" Jolin will be remembered for his warmth, dedication to family, and the joy he found in the pursuits he loved. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
