Obituary

Bernard Lee Oliver born in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away in Laguna Hills, CA. on Wednesday April 3, 2019.
Bud was his nick name to all. He had a twin brother Bob and an older sister Maxine.
Parents were Verjean (Reimer) Oliver and Joseph Oliver; all have passed before him.
Bud liked the Navy so much he told his brother to join up. So he did. They were able to serve on the same ship during the Korean War. Both Bud and Bob were transferred to California in the early 50's. Bud settled in San Diego and Bob in the Sacramento area.
Bud was in military service and government contract business his entire life. It began at age of 16 he volunteered with the National Guard. He was in the Navy for 5 years and Air Force reserve for 2 years.
Bud met his first wife Ginger (Hazel Marie) in China Lake, CA. Within that first year they had their first child, June. Soon he was transferred to San Diego, CA. where they set up home and had three more children Peggy, Ann and Doug. After twenty five years of marriage Ginger lost her life to cancer and passed away.
A few years later Bud rekindled a friendship with Gingers high school friend and old neighbor Toddy Widmark. Toddy had three children from her first marriage, Kim, Stuart and Kelly,
They were married for 26 years before Toddy passed due to a stroke.
Bud moved up to Laguna Woods, CA. to be closer to daughters and his son.
Our best memories while growing up were the family vacations, which were always camping trips, either to the mountains, deserts or beaches.
Bud had one hobby talking to people around the world via ham radio; the neighbors didn't like it much but he enjoyed it tremendously. His call sign is emblazoned in our memories (K6CZJ). We could always find him in the garage on the ham radio!
