Obituary

Betty Jane Erickson, born December 21, 1944 in French Camp, California, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023 in Mission Viejo, California at the age of 78.  Born to Orville and Lucille Holt, she had 4 siblings – Leroy (passed), Richard, Joyce (passed), and Lillian.  Betty lived in both Northern and Southern California for most of her life with a brief time in Maryland, Texas and Arizona.  Betty was married to Jim Fajardin in the 1960's, George Spiridonoff in the 1970's and 1980's and Richard Erickson from the 1990's.  All have preceded her in death.

Betty worked for nearly 60 years in a few different roles.  Her first being picking fruit in the fields of Stockton, California.  She worked for See's Candies, Lerner department store, and then the dental field as an office manager and consultant.  Her final role was bookkeeper for the business she owned with her husband.  Her favorite role was that of wife, mother, and grandmother, and she took this role seriously and lovingly.  She is survived by her sons - Mark (Maria), Craig (Orie), Brian (Traci), Brian (Bonnie), Brent (Kara), Joe (Collene) - and daughter, Kittren (Steve).

She had many grandchildren whom she greatly impacted.  She excitedly gave each one a number to signify birth order and they often refer to themselves with this number.  Her grandchildren are Mark Jr. (Areej), Steven (Lisa), Michael, Kyle, Renee, Jake, Daisy (Luke), Luke, Faith, Gavin, and Will.  Betty also had five great-grandchildren – Bailey, Mason, Ethan, Andrew, and Claire.

Betty enjoyed her many adventures with her husband, Richard.  They were known to take off for day trips and enjoyed all aspects of their life together.  She was known for being more energetic than everyone else.  She was vibrant and lived life to the fullest.  She remembered everyone's birthdays and special occasions and celebrated people every chance she was able to.  She counseled a good many people that sought her out.  She was honest but always non-judgmental and encouraging.  She was full of grace and compassion.

Her children and grandchildren are filled with stories and memories of her.  She was uniquely funny and the life of any party.  Her most important act in this life was teaching every one of her children and grandchildren about Jesus and how vitally important it is to have a relationship with Him and the security of Heaven.  She taught all to put their trust in Jesus and live their lives for Him.  Betty is staring at Jesus's face now and loving every moment of it.  This is a guarantee, as is our guarantee, that her family and friends that trust in Jesus will see her again when they join her there.

Betty and Richard's most favorite place was Woods Lake near Lake Tahoe.  A celebration will be held for both in the summer of 2024.  All are welcome to attend.
