Obituary

Billie-Coco-Travelstead, a mother, Nani and friend to many passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016. She was born in Lynwood, California on October 28, 1943. She was 72 years old and lived in Mission Viejo, CA. Billie passed away after a long fight with cancer and was at her home surrounded by family at the time of her passing.

She married her high school love and had 2 daughters, Stacey and Jennifer. Within years, she found herself as a single mother, enjoying raising her daughters and being a gifted hair stylist. Even though they were on a tight budget, the three of them kept putting money into ceramic piggy bank, labeled "Hawaii or bust" until they had enough for a trip to Hawaii. This trip was the model of their life. Work hard, make time for each other and enjoy life. This is where Billie discovered the theme of her life, quality over quantity. To the very end of her life she lived this out, she didn't live as long as we would have liked, but her years were full of quality, just short on quantity and we know she wouldn't have it any other way.

She preached health with a passion few people have, but many witnessed. She was a very successful Shaklee distributor and mentor. Letters are still pouring in to us from people who have regained their health due to her wisdom of organic eating, toxin cleansing and vitamin taking advice.

Mom then became a Nani and wow what a Nani she was. Still passionate about life and health, she shared this with her grandchildren who soaked up the advice and now carry the torch. They will always have within them the fingerprints of their Nani in every area of their life. Living simply and living fully, her internal fire now burns in many, and we are all better because of her. To her last days, she wanted to fight the large corporations and stop them from destroying the world God created. From her bed with a cell phone and a computer, she impacted and educated anyone who would listen.

Late in life Billie met the love of her life, Alty Travelstead. They met at a health retreat and were a perfect match. Their love grew quickly, they married, united their families and it was beautiful. Within a few years Alty passed from cancer, leaving her with some wonderful memories and a love that would last a lifetime.

She also took every opportunity she had to share Jesus with her friends. She wanted everyone to experience the love and grace that brought her so much joy, happiness and hope. She led many friends to Christ, once again improving lives by leading them to God who saves souls.

How many years can a person live with stage 4 metastasized cancer? One, two, three, four? How about 7 years! With her natural ways and strong belief in God, she ate healthy food, took her supplements and prayed hard. Those 7 years were full of quality too. The last year has been a struggle and the Lord gave her the rest she so dearly deserved. We want to tell everyone that a wonderful, powerful, woman left the world and her family last week.

Into God's hands we give our Mom, we give our Nani and we release a friend. She is survived by her daughters and families; Stacey, Brian, Chanelle, Mason and Sheridan Wikoff, and Jennifer, Scot, Alec and Aubrey Snowball. Stepson and family; Wayne, Ute, Hanna and Max Coco.
