IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Blanca I.
Calvache De Sanchez
March 27, 1928 – April 29, 2014
Blanca I. Calvache De Sanchez, a woman of faith and family, passed away on Tuesday morning, April 29, 2014, of pneumonia and heart failure at the age of 86. She is survived by her husband Jose Manuel Sanchez, her son Yosman (Alexandra) Sanchez, her two daughters; Gladys (Nelson) Gonzalez, Sandra Blanca, and seven grandchildren.
Blanca was born in Colombia to her parents Rufino Calvache and Rosa Rodriguez on March 27, 1928. After high school and while she was a nurse by profession, Blanca met and married her husband, Jose and immediately started her family, which she was most prideful of. Around 1990, Blanca traveled to the United States to be close with her family, where she established permanent residency in Orange County, California. A Catholic by faith, she loved to support all her family in their time of need. She loved traveling to new places, spending time with all her grandchildren, and loved to spend time at the mall. Blanca gave faith, dedication, unconditional support and love to everyone around her. When asked by her son, casually one day, why she never returned to Colombia, she gave a simple answer, "My home is where my family is." It never crossed her mind to leave them.
Blanca always had a smile on her face and put others before herself. She would want everyone to remember what she believed everyday of her life, Blanca's daily prayer: "God, whatever I do today, I want to make sure to take the time to love you and love others. That is the purpose of my life and I do not want to waste this day. Amen."
