Obituary

Braden Stanford Ross passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on August 30, 2023, in Newport Beach, California, and leaves behind his family who loves him more than words can express and the friends whose lives he touched.

Braden was born on April 22,1988, in Plano, Texas, and was known for his loving heart, calm nature and passion for all sports.  He attended Pegasus School, Huntington Beach, CA, and Sage Hill High School in Newport Coast, CA.  While at Sage, he excelled at playing varsity football, baseball, and soccer and was named Athlete-of-the-Year upon graduation.

After graduating, he was recruited to play football at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and also had the unique opportunity to play soccer in Germany.  He graduated from the University of Arizona where he studied geology and developed a love for rock-climbing that led to his exploring many of our National parks.  He continued to live in Tucson for many years and recently moved back to Newport Beach to be closer to his family. He was a passionate fan of the Angels, Lakers, Ducks, USC Trojans, and especially the Dallas Cowboys, who he grew up watching with his dad and brothers.

Braden was an adventurer at heart and loved to travel.  His many travels included climbing Machu Picchu, working in a gold mine in Peru, and touring several European countries.  Of all places he visited, the annual trip to Kulik Lodge in Alaska for fly-fishing with his dad and brothers was by far his favorite.

Braden will be remembered for his sweet smile, his bravery, his love of sushi and Mexican food, and the immense love he gave to his family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Gail and Steve Ross (Newport Beach, CA); his brothers Grayson Ross (Ally) (Oak Park, CA) and Taylor Ross (Newport Beach, CA); his sister Ashley Ross (Philadelphia, PA); his niece Haley Ross; his aunt Rebecca Heck (Charles); and his cousins Nathan (Dana), Collin, and Kendall (Sanaya) Stocke; and his beloved great-aunt Joan Packer.

A small service was held for immediate family members at McCormick and Sons Mortuary in Laguna Hills. To honor Braden's love of nature, a tree may be planted in his memory in one of the National forests.
