Laguna Woods, CA
Bruce Leroy Siriani was a Southern California native, born in Compton on February 25, 1941 and died Friday November 7th at his home in Laguna Woods. He was surrounded by beloved family.
His younger years were spent in Garden Grove and Long Beach. He remembered foggy drives to the beach, playing trumpet in the band at Garden Grove High School, water polo, scuba diving, and learning to fly an airplane. Everything was possible and worth trying.
Bruce was an early employee at Disneyland and stayed on following graduation from Long Beach State, becoming a supervisor in Adventureland, operations manager at the New York World's Fair, and helping open Florida's Walt Disney World. That's where he met Laura, who was swept off her feet by the Porsche-driving, airplane-flying California boy. The early married years were spent in central Florida, where their daughter, Susan, was born, followed by a move to the San Francisco Bay area and a new theme park: Marine World, Africa USA. The ever-curious Bruce loved working with colleagues who had vast knowledge of animal behavior.
Daughter Katherine was born in the Bay Area, and as the children grew, Bruce's career took a turn when he and his partners founded Vesteq Capital Management, which became a successful real estate investment firm. Family weekends were spent exploring San Francisco and flying his beloved Cessna, while discovering the gold country and remote areas of California. There were ski trips and vacations to Sun River, Oregon, where off time was spent with friends and family.
In the mid-eighties, Bruce and his family returned to his Southern California roots, establishing Siriani & Associates Real Estate Sales and Property Management. He served greater Orange County as a broker and property manager for 40 years, building not only his business but long-time relationships with clients.
The children grew into adults who made their dad proud. Any time spent with them was a good time, and those moments with his three much-loved grandchildren added to every adventure. Bruce loved his family and friends unconditionally.
Always trying to learn new things, Bruce took up woodworking late in life. His family and friends treasure his beautiful bowls and boxes, and the move to Laguna Woods opened up an entire community of people who shared his passion for wood!
He and Laura enjoyed traveling and exploring places near and far.
Bruce leaves a family that loved him deeply and honors his legacy of adventure, courage, and persistence. He is survived by his wife Laura, daughter Susan Siriani, (grandchildren Parker, Patrick and Henry Flaherty) and daughter Katherine Siraini.
Instead of flowers, we ask that donations be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church's newly established Memorial Fund for bridging the gap between the church and the needs of the world. Our goal is to honor Bruce and Laura's commitment to the work of reconciliation.
Memorial Donations may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, 1221 Wass Street, Tustin, CA 92780.
A memorial service will be held for Bruce at St. Paul's Episocpal Church in Tustin, CA on Friday, December 12th at 11:00. Lunch will follow.
