Obituary
Winters, Carinthia, nee Carinthia Jones, born March 13, 1929 in Liverpool, England, passed on to a better place May 7, 2015 at the age of 86. She left us surrounded by family.
She is survived by her devoted husband Peter Winters, her five children, Victor Winters (Alaska,) Charlotte Winters Liberman, Rosalyn McGarry and Henry Winters (California) and Cathy Kim (Washington.) Also her grandchildren Shannon, Theresa and Danny Bierek (California), Michael Bierek (Quebec,) Matthew, Samuel and Emily Winters (California,) Kristen Watkins (California,) Kyle Kim (Oregon,) Brianna, Zach and Matt Liberman and Dana Alvarado, and great- grandchildren Kaleb, Nevaeh and Kristian Alvarado (California.)
Born in 1929 in Liverpool, England, Carrie worked as a nurse in Australia before moving to Canada where she met and married Dr. Peter Winters in 1957. They moved to the United States and raised 5 children together in Corvallis, Oregon. She resumed nursing and lived in Great Falls, MT, Lakenheath, England and Mountain Home, ID, with her husband during his service in the U.S. Air Force, as well as Tacoma, WA, during his time working for the Veterans Administration. After retiring back to Corvallis, They moved to Southern California in 2012.
Carrie is preceded in death by her brother Cedric and her sister Violet, from Canada.
Carrie's spirit was filled with adventure. When there was no adventure to be had, she created it with a song or story or game. She loved long walks on the beach, working in the garden, and always had tea and cookies, if not a banquet, for her innumerable visitors. Always kind, always giving, a great story-teller with her gentle English accent, always there for her loved ones. She will be desperately missed, and so many souls are the better for having crossed paths with her.
A memorial service will be held on Mother's Day, May 10th at 1 pm at:
McCormick's Mortuary, 25000 Moulton Pkwy, Laguna Hills, CA 92653
