Carmen was born as Carmen Miriam Figueroa Baeza, in Rancagua, Chile on April 3rd, 1935. She leaves her husband Fernando, sons Fernando and Patricio, daughter Veronica, grandson Max, granddaughters Tanya and Josefina, step grandchildren Christian, Jace and Cindy, and daughters in law Nicole, Rossana, and Jazmina.
Since a young age Carmen had a challenging life and as the eldest of 8 siblings, she helped her mother raise the family and entered the workforce at an early age.
In 1980 she moved to the United States and lived a life performing diverse jobs including owning her own bakery for several years.One of her proudest accomplishments was acquiring her United States Citizenship.
For the last twenty years Carmen and Fernando enjoyed living in Laguna Woods California, where she regularly took walks by the beach with Fernando, cooked and baked, and showed her love and care by feeding family and friends delicious dishes. Her hobbies also included knitting, gardening, reading and traveling. Some of her most treasured moments were babysitting her grandson Max and visiting with her granddaughters Tanya and Josefina. Her last days were hard due to Alzheimer. She was a woman of strength, courage and perseverance. She passed away at 6:07 AM at her home on September 25th, 2019.
