Carmen Juliet Moriarty, born March 8, 1938 in Los Angeles, CA, passed peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 in her Lake Forest home after a 4 month battle with cancer. Born to Lino and Refugio "Cuca" Carrillo, she has four siblings Celia Specher, Angie Garnett, Armando Carrillo and Gil Carrillo. Carmen moved to Orange County in 1961 with her then husband Edward Moriarty, where they had five children. Carmen and Ed were divorced in 1990.
She worked as a Notary Public for the last 10 years and loved meeting new people every week. Prior to becoming a Notary, she worked as an administrative assistant for 20 years. Carmen is survived by her daughters Laura, Dina and Mona, sons Michael and John, sons-in-law Michael and Gary, daughter in-law Sarah and grandchildren Kyle, Thomas, Marcus, Chelsea, Marcus, Lauren and Juliet.
Carmen's greatest joys in life was the love of her Lord Jesus Christ, her children, as well as spending time with and talking about her grandchildren.
In her free time, Carmen enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, attending bible studies in her community, and doing art projects with her youngest grandchild, Juliet. She loved to see the world, and some of her fondest memories were her trips to Mexico, Europe, Russia and throughout the United States.
Most of all, Carmen loved the time spent with friends and family. She was very generous with her time and heart, always willing to help someone in need.
Services will be held Sunday, February 23, 2020, 3:00 p.m. at Kingdom Covenant Church, 22600 Lambert St, Building B, Suite 809, in Lake Forest, followed by a reception in Carmen's neighborhood clubhouse at 24921 Muirlands Blvd, in Lake Forest.
