Obituary

Carolyn June Thompson passed away peacefully at the age of 84 in Laguna Niguel on November 16, 2021, at Providence Mission Hospital, in Mission Viejo.

Carolyn was born on June 10, 1937, in Shreveport, Louisiana to her Father Alton C Thomson Sr. and her Mother Dorothy Thompson. She worked in banking and was very creative and loved arts & crafts, sewing and crochet. She has traveled and moved numerous times from San Antonio, TX., San Diego, CA., Rohnert Park, CA., and to her current home in Laguna Niguel, CA.

She had a tremendous sense of humor, always had a funny story to tell, my favorite, her uncle built her a doll house, and asked her what color she wanted to paint it on the inside, she said blue and a white stripe. So, he sent her to the store to get a can of blue and white striped paint. The owner of the store sent her home and told her to tell her uncle to stop sending her to the store for these silly things, I guess he did this often to her.

Carolyn was strong in her Catholic faith and devoted to her family. She is survived by her children, Daughter, Dorothy J. Gonzalez, and Sons Rafael Gonzalez, Kenneth G. Friedkin II, and Clifford M. Hogan.

She was a beloved grandmother to her amazing grandchildren: Robert and Sheena Tang, Marina A. Gonzalez, Bianca P. Gonzalez, Rafael H. Gonzalez Juliana Alvarez, Alfredo Alvarez, Jonathan Hogan, Lauryn Pelletier, Christopher Hogan, Monty Hogan, Jacinda L. Friedkin, Tyler Shaw, Thomas H. Friedkin II, Laura Friedkin, Lorrin J. Friedkin and Gideon Kruitt.

She was also blessed to be a beloved great grandmother to Luna Alvarez, Victoria Alvarez, Abram Alvarez, Owen Hogan, Elena Hogan, Gabriel Ugarte, Otis Kruitt, Arie Kruitt, Kenneth G. Friedkin III and Oscar R. Friedkin.
She is also survived by her Brother Alton C. Thompson, and Sister Jonanne Thompson.

Carolyn was fun, bright, and loving and will be especially missed by all of her family and friends.

"I love you every day. And I will miss you every day." Mitch Albom
