Tagliapietra, Cary E., 94, died peacefully in her home April 1, 2019. She was born in Athens, Greece, and came to the U.S. after marrying George Tagliapietra, an American soldier, whom she met in Germany after the war. She had a long, fulfilling career as a psychiatric nurse. Cary made friends easily and loved traveling and getting together with friends and family. Upon retirement she volunteered at local hospitals for many years. Cary was intelligent, hardworking, outspoken, strong, innovative, caring, and always loved to have people around her. She was also a devout Catholic and sang in her church choir for 30 years.

Cary is survived by her two daughters, Diane M. Tagliapietra of San Clemente, CA and Jean L. Tagliapietra of Ketchum, ID; five grandchildren, Sarah, Monica and Michelle Bahan, and Brian and Christina Ashby. A funeral Mass is scheduled at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Laguna Woods, May 25, 2019, 9:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Graceland Hospice Care, 360 W.
