Cathleen Sheila Johnston (Cath) born September 23 ^rd , 1926 passed peacefully in her sleep on November 4 ^th , 2022 in her Laguna Woods home. She was 96.

Cathleen was born in Hackensack, New Jersey and had a very happy childhood living on Summit Avenue with her parents , Catherine and Francis Hagerty,  and her siblings, Dick, Patty and Frank. Much excitement and love was added by her cousins, the Leonards, living directly across the street. The Hagerty 4 and Leonard 6 were a large extended family and many stories of this time abound.

The depression and WWII took a large toll on her generation, but they survived and she married S. Robert Johnston (Bob) in May 1952. Their family started quickly as Stephen, Jr and Cathleen were born before their 2 ^nd Anniversary.  The young family moved to South Bend, IN where Victoria and Mark were born and then continued westward to Los Angeles where Matthew was born. Cath is survived by all 5 of her children, 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren who all affectionately call her "Mops".

Cath and Bob were partners in business as well as life. She was an advisor and assistant throughout his consulting career and co-author of their book. Their work brought them back east to New York city. Unfortunately, Bob had early health issues that impacted his career and the rest of his life. This precipitated their move back west to Laguna Woods in 1986.

Cath was his primary care giver for many years and managed due to her intellect, positive attitude, ability to accept any situation and gregarious personality.  She found time for the many activities available in Laguna Woods. Gardening, Golf and Bridge became her passions. She was building captain and president of the Ladies golf league. She even had 4 holes in one over her league career. Bob passed in 1999 and then it was through gardening and golf that she met, Harold King. They both enjoyed traveling and telling stories about their many adventures.

Services will be held Tuesday, November 15 ^th , 11:00 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 24252 El Toro Rd, Laguna Woods, CA. Immediately after the service, Cathleen will be laid to rest with her loving husband at Ascension Cemetery in Lake Forest
