Cecile Cheung October 17, 1948 – December 6, 2025
Cecile Cheung, 77, of Lake Forest, California, peacefully passed away on December 6, 2025.
Born on October 17, 1948, to Winston and Teresa Lee, Cecile lived a life filled with love, creativity, and deep devotion to her family and faith. She was one of four siblings, preceded in death by her brothers Philip and Peter, and is survived by her brother David.
Cecile was the beloved wife of Gregory, with whom she shared 53 beautiful years of marriage. They were united on July 2, 1972, in San Francisco, California, beginning a life together marked by unwavering love and partnership. The couple made their home in Irvine, California, where they raised their two children, Michael and Jennifer.
As a devoted Catholic, Cecile found strength and comfort in her faith throughout her life. She was known for her generous spirit and her remarkable talent for crafts. A self-proclaimed "craft junkie," Cecile delighted in knitting sweaters, scarves, blankets, and just about anything else imaginable. Her handmade creations were gifts of warmth and love, touching countless lives through her creativity and care.
Cecile cherished time spent with family and friends and welcomed everyone with open arms, a warm smile, and repeated offers of food—no one ever left her home hungry.
She was also a deep lover of animals and shared a special bond with her pets throughout the years. They adored her completely, a fact that surely had nothing to do with her habit of sharing table food—of course not.
Cecile is survived by her devoted husband, Gregory; her son Michael and his wife, Sara; her daughter Jennifer; her cherished grandchildren Jakob, Jayden, Riley, and Carter; and her brother David Lee.
A memorial service celebrating Cecile's life will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Ascension Cemetery in Lake Forest, California. Cecile will be laid to rest with her parents, Winston and Teresa, and her brothers Philip and Peter.
Cecile's legacy lives on through the love she shared, the beautiful creations of her hands, and the faith she demonstrated daily. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
