Charles William "Bill" Pearson born July 17, 1927 passed away December 23, 2013 at the age of 86 following a brief illness. Bill is survived by Mary Louise, his wife of nearly 61 years and his daughters Mindy (Pearson) Villa, Dena (Pearson) Maloney, and Jodie (Pearson) Emmons. Bill was also blessed with six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Bill was born in Aurora, Colorado, the eldest child of David Richard and Fannie Mae Pearson. He spent his early childhood in Paris, Texas before the family moved to Inglewood, CA.
Bill attended Inglewood High School, graduating in 1945. He immediately joined the United States Navy (SeaBees) and served in the South Pacific on the island of Saipan. Bill married Mary Sonnleitner on January 18, 1953 living in Hawthorne before moving to West Covina where they lived for 45 years. They led an active life with their 3 daughters.
Bill was a hard worker who enjoyed a rewarding career in the electronics industry, retiring from Odetics Corporation in 1990. He and Mary retired to Williams Canyon in Orange County where he enjoyed the peaceful, quiet beauty of the canyon.
Bill will be laid to rest at the Riverside National Cemetery on January 2, 2014 at 11:45 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Bill's name to Children's International, an organization Bill supported for many years.
