According to the national World War II museum, "every 3 minutes a memory of World War II, its sights and sounds, its terrors and triumphs – disappears. On June 22, 2016, a man who had seen these terrors, felt these triumphs, and had the honor of being a part of such an awe-inspiring, yet dark time in our history, has passed. A man who was not only a father to 3 amazing children, but a grandfather to 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was a man I was lucky enough to call my grandfather. Since I was little, my father had always shown me some of my grandfather's scattered war memorabilia. However, one thing I was always fascinated with was one unique handkerchief he used to own. My father had later explained to me what it stood for, and at that moment I had understood real honor. This handkerchief contained the emblem to the Bomber Barons 5th Heavy Bombardment group; of which my grandfather was an acting 2nd Lt Officer. At my young age, I've been lucky enough not to have written any obituaries prior to this. I believe most of them probably contain many of the same cliché sentences and farewells, however, I believe that this should be more of a reflection than a farewell. After all, we aren't just saying goodbye to an ordinary man, this is a man classified as a bombardier, who was armament, oxygen, and first aid officer aboard a B-24 aircraft. A man responsible for all bombing and gunnery equipment on the aircraft. He served 8 months overseas with the 13th Army Air Corps based in the South Pacific. He flew on 23 combat missions totaling 232 combat hours and approximately 600 hours of total flying time in a military aircraft. He was a Squadron Leader with his unit, qualified in piloting and dead reckoning navigation. Not only was he a defender of this country's freedom, but for 55 years after the war, he insured justice as an attorney at law. What an amazing life and such an honorable, selfless person. However, it doesn't end there. Charles Rex Brady met his amazing wife, a Holocaust survivor from Amsterdam, Netherlands; Rebecca Marcus, while in Europe after the war. After several dates, a sponsorship was arranged for her to come to America; but not until, as she put it, " you put a ring on my finger". And there it was, written in the stars. They later went on to have 3 amazing children. My uncle, Rex Brady, my aunt, Laura Newhall-Allen, and my father, Michael Brady. For all my life this man has been the honorable figurehead of the Brady family, and we will forever remember your teachings. We will be forever grateful for your sacrifices. We will always be in your debt for your courage in defending our country. And we will forever love and miss you. Rest in Peace Charles Rex Brady.

Charles is survived by his wife Rebecca, his children Rex Leo Brady (and wife Tina), Laura Newhall-Allen(and husband Rod, and ex-husband Roger)) and Michael Brady (and wife Adriana); as well as his grandchildren Richard, Jacqueline, Keegan, Dillon, Emily, Aiden, Jake and Luke, and great-grandchildren Charles and Ryder.
