Christopher de Jesus, born November 22, 1976, passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 21, 2026 at UCI Health, Irvine. Chris was lovingly known as “Babe” to his wife and “Papa” to his son. First born son to Policarpio de Jesus and Evangeline Yutuc, he has two siblings Joane de Jesus and Adrian de Jesus. Chris moved to California in 1999 with his parents and siblings, where he met the love of his life, Ann Marie de Jesus. After a short courtship, Chris and Ann were married in the winter of January 26, 2002 and had a son Joshua Paul de Jesus.
Beginning in Greenville Highschool, his passion for computers stemmed from his teacher. Chris worked in IT since the 2000s and worked with Toshiba Logistic for almost 7 yrs with his boss Koji Mori, who provided him total guidance. He is survived by his wife, Ann Marie, son Joshua, mother Evangeline, stepdad Mark, sister Joane, brother-in-law David, nephew Gabriel, niece Emilia, brother Adrian, sister-in-law Pepet, nephews Evan, Ethan, Elijah and niece Marian, father-in-law Ernesto, brother-in-law Ernesto Jr, sister-in-law Maureen and nephew Alexander, sister-in-law Cheryl and brother-in-law Jeremy. His dad passed away on Oct. 30, 1993 and his mother-in-law Rufina on Dec. 17, 2017.
Chris’ pride and joy was his son Joshua Paul. They shared a love for basketball, Chris being Joshua’s basketball coach for many years. A fond memory that Joshua has of his father is when they would play Just Dance together on the Wii or when Chris would play Guitar Hero with him in the living room.
Chris’ greatest pleasure in life was the years with Ann Marie. They enjoyed going on adventures together: hiking, painting, kayaking, dancing, singing, Zumba, and going on long walks.
Chris and his friends enjoyed camping, dining, out of town trips and Zumba dancing on Sunday.
Chris was loved for his bubbly, vibrant wholesome cheery attitude, outgoing personality and his selfless love to the community. Chris showed love for his community by being a consistent blood donor and being an organ donor, even in death, wanting to help people in need.
Viewing will be held on October 28 2026, at 5:00 p.m. – 9:00pm at McCormick and Sons Mortuaries, Laguna Woods. Chris will be laid to rest at Ascension Cemetery with an intimate ceremony with his family on November 3, 2026.
