Cleve Robert Ferguson passed away Wednesday June 6, 2018 at Saddleback Memorial Hospital at Laguna Hills California.Mr. Ferguson was the son of Frank and Ruth Ferguson of Los Angeles.
Robert Ferguson was investd into the Supreme Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem, Grand Priory of the Scots, in 1998.Hewas a Knight Commander, member of the Orders's Privy Council, andearned special recognition as the Priory's Avocat.Hewasalso an active member of the Clan Ferguson Society of North America, and was a Regional Vice President.
Mr. Ferguson(BOB) was an Adjunct professor of Astronomy at the University of La Verne, California.Bob also taught telescope optics at the University of California Los Angeles and at Irvine. He was a co-founder and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Mount Wilson Institute which oversees the operation of the Mount Wilson Observatories.
Bob was an attorney at law and practiced in the fields of complex business and land use litigation.He was a graduate of University of Southern California with a A.B. in Economics and a Juris Doctor.He also studied European economics and literature at the University of Vienna, Austria.Between 1994 and 2002, he taught Evidence and Civil Procedure at the University of La Verne's College of Law.
He was married to the former Peggy Burke of Statesboro, Georgia.Bob had two children from a previous marriage, Shari and Timothy Ferguson.
Funeral service will be held at McCormick and Son Mortuary in Laguna Hills, California on Saturday June 9, 2018 at 2:00PM.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mount Wilson Observatory at www.mtwilson.edu
