He was the recipient of the Bronze Star with Valor in 1967 and again in 1968 along with the Purple Heart. His last tour was at Camp Pendleton and he decided to make California his home.
He worked at the U S postal Service and when he retired moved to Laguna Woods, California, where he lived for 10 years.
He is survived by his daughter Deborah Crawford of Laguna Niguel and son Derrick Crawford and his wife Cathy of Rancho Santa Margarita. He also is survived by his sister, Mildred White of Mississippi, brother, Kenneth Crawford of Arizona and sister, Cindy Mcgrane and husband Brian of Colorado and many nieces and nephews.
He had many friends. He loved the Marine Corps, country music and square dancing. He was a regular at Lone Star, Ruby's and Woody's; he loved a place where everyone knows your name. He was very generous and he will be truly missed.
