Obituary

A beloved wife, loving mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, aunt, god-mother, cousin, and friend, Corina Rios left this world far too soon, at 28. She went to be with our Lord on Thursday January 7, 2021 after a 9 month battle with lung cancer. Despite her illness, Corina was always a positive person who had the most beautiful smile that could light up not only the room but your soul.

Born in Mission Viejo, CA. on December 3, 1992 to Leticia Hernandez and Noe Frias, Corina grew up in San Juan Capistrano, CA where she attended San Juan Elementary and San Juan Hills High School. She was lovingly raised by her great grandmother, Anastacia Hernandez; her great aunt, Ana Maria Hernandez; and her grandpa, Manuel Hernandez, better known to her as daddy. She had a long-standing relationship with God and was very blessed with her faith.

As a child, Corina was a radiant, energetic, confident, and thoughtful girl. She would take such joy in making and gifting homemade, one of a kind gifts for family members. Her thoughtfulness and compassion for others never ceased. She was the best big cousin and god-mother, always taking her niece and little cousins on adventures and celebrating special moments in their life. Corina enjoyed all things Disney. She loved going to Disneyland to celebrate any occasion and would map out the visits so to not waste any time. Corina also loved celebrating her culture and her city! She loved dancing Baile Folklorico and would enjoy performing in the yearly Swallows Day parade. She enjoyed baking, traveling and spending time with her friends. Most of all Corina adored her little family.

Corina married the love of her life and best friend, Victor Rios, January 19, 2019. She gave birth to their daughter, Noemi, February 9, 2020. Victor and Noemi were her world. She loved them fiercely. Corina loved going fishing, to the beach, watching and playing soccer, going out to eat, and being goofy with Victor. She would laugh at his "funny" jokes and often dreamed about their future together. Corina will be sorely missed. Her memories will live on in the hearts of the loved ones she leaves behind.

When you think of Corina, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest.

Corina is preceded in death by her brother, Jorge Dena and great grandmother, Anastacia Hernandez. She is survived by her loving husband, Victor Rios; daughter, Noemi Rios; mother, Leticia Hernandez; grandpa, Manuel Hernandez; grandma, Felicitas Hernandez; aunts and uncles who played a significant role in her life, and many great aunts, Ana Maria and Mariana Hernandez; uncle, Augustine Hernandez; aunts, Carmen Del Pilar and Ana Hernandez; brothers, Aaron Mariconda and Isaac Frias; niece, Aaliyah Dena, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and friends.

If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together
There is something you must always remember

You are braver that you believe
Stronger than you seem
And smarter than you think
But the most important thing is even if we are apart…
I'll always be with you
