Craig Stuart Bergstrom, born September 3rd, 1952 in Cleveland, OH, passed away on Tuesday, July 19th, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Born to Harold Bergstrom and Victoria Divoky Bergstrom, he has two siblings, older brothers Jeff and Gary. Craig attended The Ohio State University, studying Biological Science with a specialty in Zoology to fulfill his dream of becoming a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. He earned his doctorate from Iowa State University in 1990. Dr. Bergstrom practiced the majority of his career at All-Care Animal Referral center in Fountain Valley, CA, special interest in neurology, and was affectionately known as "Bergy" to his colleagues.

Craig is survived by his wife, Linda, and three children Kim, Tim, and Diana. He met his future wife of 35 years, Linda Billings, while playing in a recreational softball league in Los Alamitos, CA. Craig and Linda were married on August 8th, 1987 and spent the early years of their marriage in Iowa. He enjoyed spending time with his family, particularly trips to the ballpark and visiting family back east. He loved nothing more than to cheer on his children at sporting events and other activities, even if it meant sacrificing sleep after an all-night shift.

One of his most defining features was his sense of humor, never letting an opportunity go by to try and make someone laugh. He was quick to utilize this during long hours at the animal hospital, generously staying late to provide care above and beyond what is reasonably expected. Dr. Bergstrom was happiest when practicing veterinary medicine and took pride in his exceptional work ethic.

Outside of his family and work, Craig had a variety of hobbies and interests. As a teenager he had fun riding motorcycles, traveling across the country from Ohio to California. He enjoyed taking photos, finding joy in capturing the world around him. He also flew planes recreationally, spending many hours in the skies above Orange County.

A memorial service will be held September 3rd, 2022 in Irvine, CA. In lieu of flowers, Craig would most appreciate a donation in his memory to a local animal shelter.
