David Daniel Alves was born on Halloween in 1934 to parents Dan and Alice, in the city of Pomona, CA. He attended Las Flores Elementary and Washington Intermediate in Bellflower, CA. Apparently, he was not a serious student and was a procrastinator.
David played trumpet for the Bellflower Reeves Rangers. His love of playing continued when he attended Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, OK. There he met Charlene Morrow, while he was a cadet commanding officer in the Civil Air Patrol. David must have looked good in uniform; they married and had 6 children.
David also had a love of everything electronics. He built radios and tv's and worked in his family's radio & electronics store. Then going on to work in the aerospace industry at Autonetics, McDonnell Douglas, & Boeing; working on the space station.
Life went on and changes occurred. He ended up raising 5 kids on his own for a while until he met Josie, who was also raising 5 kids. They were married in 1978.
David & Josie lived a good life. Their love and commitment to each other and the church was admirable. They attended Santiago de Compostela for many years before Josie passed away in 2007. David continued to be faithful, going to Mass & Rosary almost every day.
David lived a long & good life. He will always be remembered with the utmost respect and love.
