David Philip Young (Dave) passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday April 19th 2017, just a few days past his 69th birthday. Dave was born on April 17, 1948 in Arcata, California.He spent 34 years in Laguna Hills California after finishing medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin in May 1978 and finished his residency at Rush Presbyterian St Luke's in Chicago May 1982.. David retried from a 38 year career in Family Medicine this past December.

Dave spent most of his days walking with no fear and facing the shadows of death to come back laughing. If there was one thing that you could count on, it was that David had an answer for just about anything.Just like his father before him his motto was "A little bit of everything"... He was an avid reader who picked up interest in just about every subject that one could imagine. He could strike up a conversation for everything from Milk to Medicine and everything in-between. Dave loved to cook and spend time in typical Young Family tradition centered around celebrations and laughter. He loved Sunday dinners watching his grand nephews and nieces who lovingly called him Poppa David, play in his pool at his home. A devoted sports fan that could be heard cheering his favorite team along side his sons.David was a devoted Father and Husband. He was an unswayable force with a gentle soul.

David is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Terri, and their children Josh and Nick Young.He has a big extended family that miss him including his siblings: Cheryl Henrickson, Blair Young, Paul Young and Maria Elena Soler and their children and grandchildren.

A private viewing will be heldon Friday, April 28, 6:00 PM at McCormick & Son Mortuaries located at : 25000 Moulton Parkway Laguna Hills, CA92653.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 10:00 AM, at McCormick & Son Mortuaries on Moulton Parkway, Laguna Hills. A short service will be held at the burial site at El Toro Memorial Park followed by a gather in at the Young home (directions will be given).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's name to the American Heart Association or to Foothills Church RSM in Rancho Santa Margarita.
