Delroy Tatenda Ashton was born November 4, 1991 in Harare, Zimbabwe to Gillian Beverly Ashton and Eddie Barros.

He spent the early years of his life in Zimbabwe, where he lived with his mother, Grandma & Grandpa Ashton, Aunty Chloe and Uncle Kevin. His mother later moved to the United States and he joined her and his younger sister, Alexzandria in Orange County, California in 2006. He had wonderful dreams about life with them and opportunities in America.

Delroy attended El Toro High School in Lake Forest and Creekside High School in Irvine, California where he graduated high school in 2012. This was one of the highlights of his life.

Delroy had a kind heart and loving spirit with strong believes and convictions about how life could be. He was always searching for true understanding and meaning in life in a very complex world. He was a kind, sensitive, giving, loyal, creative person, who enjoyed helping others and sharing whatever he had with them. He had a gift of making people smile and a passion for graphic art, music, and dance.

As a young man, he had a deep love for his mother and sister. They were extremely important to him. He wanted to be sure they would be cared for. In October of 2013, his concerns were addressed. His mother married Muzi Patella. This gave him assurance and peace about his concern for them.

He accepted the Lord in 2012 and reconfirmed his acceptance to God in 2014 asking God to help him navigate life in ways pleasing to Him. The Lord called him home to be with Him in a place of perfect peace on March 5, 2015.

He is survived by his loving Mother Gillian Beverly Patella; Father, Eddie Barros; Stepfather, Muzi Patella; Sister, Alexzandria Ashton; Daughter, Aubree Thompson; Aunt, Chole Ashton; Uncle, Kevin Ashton ; Uncle, Joseph Ashton; Uncle, David Ashton; Aunts, Tina and Tanya Ashton and a host of other relatives, love ones, and friends.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation, gratitude, and thanks for the many expressions of condolence, sympathy, and support from loved ones and friends during this difficult time. They also extend their thanks to the staff of McCormick & Son Mortuary, 25002 Moulton Parkway, Laguna Woods, Ca 92637 for their dedication and service in celebrating the life and homegoing of their love one.

Interment will take place immediately after the memorial service at El Toro Memorial Park, 25751 Trabuco Road, Lake Forest, California 92630.
