Denise Marie LaVoire Thatcher passed away peacefully, at the age of 51, at her home in San Juan Capistrano, CA, on Sunday, November 19, 2023. She was surrounded by many family members.  She was born in Glendale, CA on January 7, 1972.  At the age of 9, the family moved to Santee, CA where she finished elementary school at Cajon Park and graduated with honors from Santana High School. She met many friends throughout those years, some of whom had still been close.

Denise continued her education part-time and graduated from Long Beach State where she majored in Biology and studied art history. Denise loved learning and was an avid reader.  These interests encouraged her love of learning and traveling.  She was fortunate to visit the Caribbean, Mexico, London, France, Spain, and Italy.

Denise had a warm and inviting personality and continued making many more friends because of her volunteer work at San Juan Elementary where her two daughters attended.  Denise assisted or coordinated the school Book Fair, Jog-a-thon, Baskets for the Spring Festival, Spaghetti Dinner, other after-school fundraisers to promote science school, and worked diligently as the PTSA President for two years.

She had a love for her family, her pets, and the environment, speaking out and working for these causes.  She loved being a mother to her daughters and worked hard to provide them with the tools they needed to develop their natural abilities and interests.

Her professional career encompassed positions at various gyms and office management work.  She worked for 25 plus years as an office manager for Hazard Management Consulting in San Clemente.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Gregg Thatcher, their two daughters, her sister, Melissa Bethurum (Jason), their two sons, her brother Matthew (Annie), their daughter and son, and her parents, Robert and Patricia.
