Obituary

Diwakar Rajagopalan, born March 7, 1974 in Chennai, India, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021 in Irvine, CA. Born to Sulochana and Rajagopalan, he has two elder siblings, Sridhar and Baskar.Diwakar grew up in Coimbatore, India. Much like his dad and paternal uncles, he was very good at tinkering with things and tools.His suburban life in the 1980s was filled with fun hobbies and sports that he still cherished. Diwakar obtained his bachelor's degree in electronics and communication engineering at Coimbatore Institute of Technology and continued to have a strong bond with friends from his School & College as well as his childhood friends.

Soon after college, Diwakar began his career running a family-owned business in the manufacturing services industry. Subsequently, he moved to high-tech working for IT companies and moved to the US in the year 2000. His early career span included consulting with companies including Deloitte and Fleetwood Recreational Vehicles. While working full-time, he obtained a Master's Degree in Systems Management – Information Systems, Florida Institute of Technology.

Diwakar married Swetha in the summer of 2006 settling initially in Corona, CA and later in Irvine, CA. He was fond of Swetha, their two children, Saanvi(9) & Adyant(6) and encouraged them to be active in the yard with plants and trees which he adored and nurtured.

For the past 10 years, Diwakar has been working in the food services industry. Most recently, he was workingas a Project Manager at Bonduelle Fresh Americas.
Diwakar had a great work ethic and a meticulous approach to execute projects. He was instrumental in managing several projects and streamlining processes. He was always there to help the team during a crisis or challenge.His customer service orientation was impeccable, and he built solutions to meet the needs of the business and his co-workers. He was full of energy when it came to tasks and never rested until the project was complete.

Diwakar touched the lives of countless individuals everywhere. Loved by so many, he was always ready to help and share his knowledge on a broad range of topics from DIY projects to real estate, gardening to cooking to healthy foods.

Diwakar loved tennis. He encouraged people to stay active and supported players of all skills. He also took interest in golf & hiking. At home, he spent his free time on family-oriented gardening. He was instrumental in starting Masala Club in his community and was active in organizing fun-filled family events. He kept in touch with many cousins and friends despite the distance.

Diwakar was an avid cook and took pleasure in making authentic south indian cuisine that is par excellence.He had innate culinary & gardening skills that he showcased even in his teenage years.

This unbelievable loss has left a void that can never be filled.
