Donald G Burge - devoted husband, a deeply loved and respected father, and an adored grandfather and GREAT grandfather.

He was born November 13th, 1933 in Birmingham Alabama, and passed peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, June 4th, 2020 in his home in Mission Viejo, CA. Donald had one older brother, Frank Otis Burge Jr.

Donald's world got a little brighter when he met the love of his life Joann House. After a short courtship, Don and Joann were married March 3rd, 1956 in Mississippi and had four beautiful children. They had a wonderful marriage, filled with so much love, fun and laughter.

He worked for ST Paul Insurance for 20 years followed by another 20 years with State Farm as a claim's arbitrator, his wife Joann liked to say he arbitrated all things in life. Donald is survived by his wife, daughters Beverly, and Sharon,sons Allen and Bryan, grandchildren Stephanie, Taylor, Kelli, Mitchell, Jeff, Nathan and Darcey, his great grandchildren Charlotte, Stevie, Banner, Lorelai, Eli, Jack, Wyatt, Cooper, Dean, Wesley, Eve, Kelsey, Misty, & Cheyenne, and three great, great grandchildren Jamison, Scarlett & Sabrina. His pride and joy was being Grandpa.

Don's greatest pleasure in life was Alabama football, playing craps in Vegas, and listening to country music followed by his children and most of all spending time and talking about his grandkids.

He was a very generous man to all who knew him. He was full of life lessons and would always slip his grandkids a $20.00 bill and tell them to go get something special for themselves.

Services will be held Friday, June 12th, 2020, 11:00 a.m. at McCormick & Sons and Don will be laid to rest at the El Toro Memorial Park.
