Donald Edwin "Uncle Donald" McRoberts, born November 20, 1920 to Irene and Norman McRoberts in Bozeman, MT passed away Friday, June 14, 2013 at the age of 92. He died peacefully in Laguna Hills, California. He is survived by his cousin, Dr. Leslie Hromas and wife, Roberta Hromas, cousin-in-law, John McRoberts and wife, Liti McRoberts, 1st cousin, once removed – Dr. Robert Hromas and wife, Shari and 2nd cousins, Lee Ann Bowman and Robert Hromas. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Daniel McRoberts.

Donald attended Bozeman High School before heading off to Montana State University where he received his Bachelors and Masters Degree in Chemistry. Donald was very proud to have served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1946. During his service in the Navy he attended Biloxi, MS Electronic School to become an Electronic Technician and was assigned to shore patrol duty in San Francisco, CA.

After the war, Donald's career began as a Chemist with The Green Giant Company and Goodyear Tire until he found his calling as a Chemistry Professor at South Dakota State University in Brookings, MT, where he spent the next 30 years. When Donald wasn't teaching he enjoyed scientific readings and stream fishing. After retiring Donald attended Geneva Presbyterian Church in Laguna Hills where he was a Lay Minister and taught many Sunday School Classes, visited shut-ins, invited and drove many locals unable to drive to attend church. He also had time to volunteer at Saddleback Memorial Hospital, attend the Kiwanis and sought ways to encourage and help others. Donald's kindness and service to others will be truly missed.
