Murphy, Donald Allen born July 12, 1930, passed away May 14, 2013 at the age of 82.
He died at home surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his wife, Jocelyne, two children, Tina Nilsson and Mark
Murphy. He was also blessed with three grandchildren; Blake, Bryce and Haley.
Don was born in Willsboro, New York, the eldest of five children. He attended Port
Henry High School in Port Henry, New York. After graduation he attended college and joined the
Air Force. While stationed overseas with NATO, he met his future wife, Jocelyne Toctan.
They married in Izmir, Turkey and moved to the U.S. in May 1956, where Don's ROTC
assignment was waiting for him in California.
After eleven years he elected to leave the military to pursue a degree in Accounting, from UCLA,
and obtain his CPA certification. Following ten years in corporate finance, he established his own
private business. He truly enjoyed his work and was greatly loved by his
clients. The great passions of his life beyond his family were football and cars.
Above all Don loved his family and was appreciated for his generosity, calm nature and great wisdom.
He will be missed by all who knew him!
Services will be held at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Thursday May 23, 2013 at 10:00am.
