Obituary for Dora Galindo de Gonzalez

Dora Galindo de Gonzalez, beloved mother, grandmother, and woman of profound faith, entered eternal rest on September 10, 2026, at her home in San Clemente, California. She was 92 years old.

Born on October 23, 1933, in Presidios, Durango, Mexico, Dora was the daughter of Abel and Elisa Galindo. She was one of seven children, preceded in death by her siblings Adan, Elias, Elisa.

Dora immigrated to the United States from Presidios, Durango, Mexico, carrying with her a deep devotion to family and faith that would define her life. On February 27, 1965, she married Agustin Perez Gonzalez in Los Angeles, California. Together they shared 57 years of marriage until his passing in December 2022.

A longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima in San Clemente for 24 years, Dora's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. Her devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus sustained her through every joy and sorrow. She prayed the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) daily, and her life reflected the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:2-12), which capture her spirit of meekness, mercy, and peacemaking.

Dora was a woman of remarkable strength and versatility. She was a homemaker, landlord, cook, and business owner. In her native Presidios, she served as President of the Catholic Association, a role that affirmed her natural gift for spiritual leadership. She was known throughout her family and community for her integrity, resilience, and unwavering loyalty.

Her talents were many—cooking, sewing, knitting, and gardening—but her greatest gift was her presence. Her home was a place of warmth where the aroma of her famous chiles rellenos filled the air and where family gathered around her table. She was a spiritual leader not only in word but in action, guiding her loved ones with quiet wisdom and steadfast love.

Dora is survived by her devoted daughter, Doralilia "Lily" Peratoner, and son-in-law Sergio Peratoner; her cherished grandchildren, Erika Peratoner and Alek Peratoner; and a host of extended family and friends who were blessed to know her.

A viewing and Rosary will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McCormick and Son Mortuary, with the Rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church in San Clemente, with Father Antonio Lopez officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California, with Deacon Luis from Our Lady of Perpetual Help presiding.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Our Lady of Fatima Church in San Clemente.

One of the family's most cherished memories is of celebrating the New Year together, preparing and cooking tamales. Grandma would order everyone around to make sure everything was just right—a reflection of her love, her standards, and her joy in bringing family together.
