Obituary

Douglas Patrick Ogrady, with a life spanning from March 23, 1954, to January 19, 2025, was a man remembered for his laughter and sincerity. Born in Independence, Missouri, Doug made his home in Ridgecrest, California, where he shared his humor and compassion with everyone he met.

Doug's journey in life was marked by profound transformation. Over the past three decades, he made choices that led him to a life filled with purpose and fulfillment. His role as the Roadmaster for the Trona Railway Company was not just a job but a testament to his dedication and unwavering spirit.

Beyond his professional life, Doug's heart was boundless. His outreach trips with Power Ministries to build homes in Mexico were expressions of his simple yet powerful philosophy: to help those in need and spread kindness at every opportunity. Doug had a knack for turning strangers into friends and lighting up conversations with his charismatic presence.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Suzen, and their cherished children: Aubrey, Donald, Deanna, and Lacey Ogrady. Doug's siblings, Micheal, Cynthia, and Gregory OGrady, along with Lori Luhnow and Lisa Luhnow Schmith, hold his memory close. Preceded in death by his parents, Fern and William OGrady, Doug looked forward to their reunion in the life to come.

A Celebration of Life for Doug is scheduled for March 1st at Joshua Hall in Ridgecrest, California, at 11:00 am. During this service, we will honor his legacy, sharing stories that capture his infectious smile and the genuine joy he brought into our lives.

Doug's journey reminds us to "Miss Me - But Let Me Go." In his absence, we are called not to remain in sorrow but to embrace the love and happiness he imparted to us all. His life was a part of the Master's plan, reminding us to engage in good deeds and live with open hearts. As we bid Doug farewell, let his spirit remain with us, urging us to find connection, compassion, and joy in each day. His was a simple yet profound way, and in our moments of solitude or longing, we will cherish the love and laughter Doug brought into our lives.
