IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Duncan Sanborn
Kimball
December 29, 1937 – June 22, 2023
Duncan Kimball passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Manhattan Beach California, on June 22, 2023. He was born on December 29, 1937 in Connecticut to Bernard and Doris Kimball. He attended Cornell University, where he met his first wife. After they were married they relocated to Southern California; while the marriage was short lived, he happily welcomed daughter Kerrie Mignonne and son Greggory Cameron.
It was in Southern California that Duncan would meet Bridget, the love of his life. They would go on to get married in 1967 in Palos Verdes, surrounded by family and friends. Their son, Matthew Charles, was born a year later.
In the early 1980's Duncan would create Acorn International Freight Forwarding company. Bridget eventually joined the company, and their partnership proved to be very successful. The company had several contracts with the United States Government to move personnel throughout the world, and specialized in the transportation of large or unusual items – including many satellites, the King Tut exhibit, and even an elephant!
After many successful years working together, Bridget and Duncan sold the company and retired, focusing their love and attention on their home, pets, and grandchildren.
Duncan is predeceased by his wife and soulmate, Bridget; parents Bernard and Doris; and brother Bruce. He is survived by daughter Kerrie and her husband Rusty; son Greggory Cameron and his wife Kim; and son Matthew and his wife Olenka. Duncan had six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Covenant House in Duncan's name.
