Elsie Levi Edsinga, born June 9, 1957, passed peacefully in her sleep the morning of Tuesday, September 3, 2019, after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. She was the first born child of Eusebio (passed) and Juliana Pontillas. In 1962, she moved from the Philippines to California with her parents and younger sister, Nina. Her other siblings born in California are Ellen, John (passed), Lisa, and Amy. Elsie met the love of her life, Edward Edsinga, at a friend's house party in 1981. They married in 1987 and had two children, Jeffrey and Cristine. She is survived by her children, husband, four sisters, and mother.

She built her career working in human resources for over 30 years at several companies including Calavo Growers. She was a devout Catholic and attended mass every Sunday. She enjoyed casual outings and grabbing coffee with Edward and their dog, Rico. She loved going out to eat and cooking homemade meals for her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

Elsie was strong-willed, passionate, and generous. She was selfless, always helping others before herself. She was strong and put on a brave face despite her struggles with her own health.

Elsie will be missed greatly by her family and friends.

Public viewing and visitation will be held on Sunday, September 8 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at McCormick and Son Mortuary, 25002 Moulton Parkway, Laguna Hills.
