Emily K. Pisa was born June 5, 1913 and passed away July 14, 2014 at the age of 101. She died peacefully at the Freedom Village Assisted Living Center, Lake Forest, CA. Emily's beloved husband, Jerry Pisa, passed away July 23, 1977. Emily is survived by her brother, Edward Krawczak and wife Sara of Hilton Head Island, SC and by her three children, Jim Pisa and wife Amy of Laguna Beach, CA; Marilyn Pisa of Santa Clarita, CA; and John Pisa and wife Beth of Baton Rouge, LA.
Emily was born in Detroit, MI, the oldest of five children. She attended high school in Detroit, where she and Jerry met, and then briefly attended U. of Michigan. She and Jerry were married in 1936. They lived in Detroit, MI; Memphis, TN; Cleveland, OH; Baton Rouge, LA; and Southern California. Emily considered Baton Rouge, where she lived in the late 50's and 60's and made many life-long friends, to be her home.
Spunky and out-spoken, Emily was a supreme homemaker, an ardent reader, an avid Dodgers and Lakers fan, and an expert at knitting and crocheting. She donated hundreds of hand-knit items to local California charity organizations and created many unique afghans and sweaters. Emily loved her Ferragamos and wore them well. Emily was at her happiest being with her family (and she was the best pie-cook around).
At Emily's request, no services will be held.
