Obituary

Evangelina M. Cano of Laguna Woods, California

December 6, 1946 – August 12, 2022

Eva was an Arizona native until she moved to California in 2007. She grew up in Avondale,  graduating from Agua Fria High School.  She spent many years in the medical field as a Scrub Nurse and Sterile Processing Technician.

She loved parrots, butterflies, birds and angels.  She was a fan of Star Trek, Harry Potter, sci-fi, true crime, biographies, and music of the 50's, 60's and 80's.  She spent happy hours thrifting.  riding her blue trike, and spoiling her grand-dogs.  Her favorite foods were Chili Rellenos, Snow Crab and Pistachios. She collected charming and colorful artifacts, was a hero to forgotten or neglected plants, and made the best caldo and enchiladas. She loved visiting her Arizona family and sharing stories both old and new.

Above all else, she loved her children. Her love and devotion to her children knew no bounds. She toiled endlessly to give her children a better life. She encouraged and supported their pursuit of any and all dreams. She loved watching them shine as parents, spouses, businesspeople and in their creative endeavors. She was endlessly proud of them and loved them for exactly who they are or aspire to be.  She has always been their biggest fan.

While Eva lives on in the hearts of her family, her presence will be missed forever.

She was preceded in death by her father, Julio Martinez and mother, Amelia Martinez of Avondale. She is survived by her three children, Leandro Cano (wife, Michelle Cano) Christina Cano (husband, Bruce Baldwin) and David Cano (partner, Roberto Mora) and grandchildren Samantha Cano and Diego Cano.
