Felisa Refran Pasia born January 15, 1932 passed away June 14, 2014 at the age of 82. She died peacefully, surrounded by the people that love her. Felisa goes to join her beloved husband of 49 years, Aquilino Montierro Pasia, who passed in 2002. She is survived by her six children, Juji Resurreccion, Senen Pasia, Gudalupe Timtiman, Marites Pasia, Bernie Pasia, and Mila Pasia; was also blessed with 9 Grandchildren, and 4 Great Grandchildren.
Felisa was born in Dolores Quezon, Philippines the fifth child of eight children of Pio Refran and Encarnacion Marquez. Felisa, also known as Fely, met her husband Aque as young children in their small town in Dolores Quezon. Aque was six years older than Fely and he often teased her as they grew up, however through the years they grew to fall in love and married on July 10, 1955. Fely was an elementary school teacher for 32 years before retiring and migrating to the United States with her husband, Aque, to care for their lovely grandchildren in Dallas, TX; Katrina and Andrew Resurreccion. Although, majority of their elder years were spent in the States Fely and Aque often returned to the Philippines to spend time with their other children and grandchildren.
After the passing of her late husband she could not have been more loved by her family. Her children and grandchildren did their best to make life as comfortable as possible. It is safe to say that Aque's wishes for Fely after he left this world were fulfilled. Aque once told Fely, at the time with 5 children, that he wanted to have one more child, so when it was his time she would not be lonely without him. As he wished, Fely had lived in Plano, TX with her youngest daughter, Mila, for the last 10 years. Fely was far from a life of loneliness, because she was always able to hear the voice of her eldest daughter in California every day and was in contact with her children in the Philippines often. She would frequently hear from her grandchildren as well.
The last few weeks of the life of Felisa was spent in California on vacation. She was able to spend quality time with her family and was able to take one last look at the faces that loved her so much. She now travels back to the Philippines to lie next to her beloved husband in the town where it all began. Just days before she passed away Fely reassured her family by saying "Don't worry, be happy. For tomorrow is another day." Felisa's family is truly blessed for another day to celebrate her beautiful life.
