Obituary

Ford Hideo Yanagisako was born to Tomoichi and Haruko Yanagisako on April 26, 1928, and passed away on November 16, 2025.  He was 97 years old.   He was predeceased by his wife Nancy and his son Steven Yanagisako.  He is survived by his sister Misaye Tanabe, daughter Lindy Sum, grandchildren Brian Yanagisako, Wyatt Sum, Lexi Siu and great grandchildren Brianna Castro, Jaden Yanagisako, Avery Sum, Addison Sum and Landon Siu, as well as 3 great-great grandchildren.  Affectionally known as Grampy by his family.

Ford lived on a farm in Sacramento until World War II.  When he was 13, the family was relocated to Poston Internment Camp in Arizona.  After the war ended, he returned to school in Indio, CA.  Ford was a Naval Veteran who served in the Korean War.  He later owned and operated Ben & Ford's Mobil Service in San Gabriel, CA for over 30 years. He retired and moved to Laguna Niguel, CA.

He loved deep sea fishing, playing golf, poker games and gardening. Family vacations were typically centered around playing golf.

Ford will be remembered as a kind and generous man, who often helped his workers and friends.  His presence will be deeply missed.  As per Ford's request, he was laid to rest at sea.
