Frank was born on May 22, 1949 in Los Angeles, California to parents Francis Xavier McCormick and Helen Claire McCormick (nee Tamblyn). He was raised by his father and his mother Adele Gierlich McCormick upon the death of his birth mother when he was 4 years old. He attended Villanova Preparatory School, Ojai California and graduated from Villanova University, Villanova, PA with a BA in Business Administration, where he was affiliated with the Tau Kappa Epsilon ( TKE) fraternity. After college he moved back to Redondo Beach California via Lake Tahoe. Frank then settled in Alta Loma, California where he lived until his passing.

Frank began a career at Los Angeles County Probation Department in 1972. He retired after 42 years in 2014, as Director of Pretrial Services. He was admired by his employees for his expertise, patience, guidance, management skills and devotion to his work . Frank had a passion for working with youth. He was an integral part of opening several juvenile camps throughout Los Angeles county, and received many recognitions for his dedication and hard work. He continued that passion with his own children coaching several of their sports teams.

Frank is survived by his wife, Cindy Escandon McCormick, his mother Adele Gierlich McCormick , his two children, Christen Marie McIntyre (Johnny) and son Ryan Patrick McCormick, his sisters Maureen Wilson, Annette Toedtman ( John) and brother Michael McCormick, and his step children, Calvin, Sarah and Sharon Collins. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Taylor and James McIntyre and Curran and Braden McCormick and great grandson Ryan Ryder McCormick Vincent and his previous wife, the mother of his children, Meg McCormick . Family was the most important thing to Frank and he lived his life for his family. Frank will be remembered for his warm smile, good advice, loyal friend, loving husband, son, brother, father, step father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Frank most enjoyed being with his family and friends, entertaining, traveling, Jimmy Buffett, sports, a passion he shared with his son and grandsons, and the beach where he grew up, which he really missed once he moved away, but came to visit often.
