IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Fredric Ansel
Bonnett
February 18, 1933 – May 22, 2023
Fredric Ansel Bonnett was born on Feb. 18, 1933 in Bellaire, Ohio. His parents were Ansel and Virginia Bonnett. At the age of 9 is when he first picked up the trumpet & harmonica. Fred played the chord harmonica. About 10 years later he & his friends Al Logan and Al Caldwell formed the "AL Fred AL " harmonica trio. They played for the famous "Harmonicats". They were having a blast performing on " Ted Mack's The Original Amateur Hour" & in Washington at the Annual Review. Their trio had to part ways but Fred's love of music never ended.
In 1956, Fred received his B.S. degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland and thereafter he enlisted in the Marine Corps and was stationed in Japan. Thankfully for him, that is where he met his future wife Yasuko. He was smitten with love and with the help of the U.S. Embassy, he was able to marry Yasuko Matsuo in 1958. They returned to Baltimore, Maryland and started their family. They were blessed with two daughters Amy and Lisa.
One of Fred's earliest jobs was as a door to door vacuum salesman. A job he absolutely abhorred. He thankfully found a night school that taught computer coding and he found his niche. His forte was always mathematics related and the spark & love for computers kept him curious, learning, challenged and happy. His teachers saw his drive and excellence in these classes which lead to his future jobs in California.
He and his family headed west by car in 1969 and he never looked back. He was not sorry to say goodbye to the cold winter storms and snow. He landed in good ol" sunny Huntington Beach, CA where he raised his family. His 25 year career as a computer analyst/programmer started and he eventually worked his way up to become program manager. The two companies he worked for in that 25 year span were McDonell Douglas and TRW before retiring.
His absolute bright light in his life was when his grandsons Evan and Alex were born. Fred is survived by his wife, Yasuko Bonnett, his daughter Amy Javier and son-in-law John Javier, his youngest daughter Lisa Bonnett and his grandson Evan and youngest grandson Alex and his wife Justine.
