It is with great sadness that the family of Gary Michael Polich announces his passing on Thursday, October 5th, 2017 after a courageous seven-year battle with systemic scleroderma. He was 57.

Gary was born on January 17, 1960 in Santa Rosa, California. He was raised by his parents, Joseph and Lillian Polich, in San Francisco and attended Galileo High School, where he excelled at football and track. After high school, Gary attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics in 1984.While at UCSB, he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.

Shortly after graduation, Gary moved to Los Angeles and began working for Pannell Kerr Forster, a certified public accounting and business-consulting firm located in Brentwood. There, he met fellow staff accountant, Ann Allison, whom he married in 1991. Gary and Ann moved to Irvine, California in 1995 to raise their daughters, Katie and Kelly.

Gary was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. For more than 30 years, he specialized in tax planning and compliance for high net worth families and estates.Most recently, Gary was a Principal at Bolar Hirsch & Jennings LLP in Irvine, California.

Gary loved spending time with family and watching his daughters' soccer games, swim meets, and dance competitions. He never hesitated to serve as a referee at a soccer match or as a timer at a swim meet. He enjoyed attending sporting events, particularly college football games, and was always up for adventures involving hiking, rafting, skiing, snorkeling, or zip lining.

Gary will be lovingly remembered by all, including his wife of 26 years, Ann; his daughters, Katie (24) and Kelly (22); his brother, Donald Polich; his aunt, Gloria Polich; his uncle, Stanley Polich, cousins, Richard Polich and Robert Polich; mother-in-law, Joyce Allison; father-in-law, Giles Allison; sisters-in-law, Mary Mix, Jamie Allison, Sara Mix and Kathleen Allison; brothers-in-law G.W. Mix, Giles Allison, Jr., Greg Mix, Andrew Allison and William Allison; nieces, Sydney Allison, Megan Mix, Avery Allison and Gemma Allison; and nephews, Ryan Mix, Casey Mix, Curran Allison, Garrett Mix, Kyle Mix, Grady Allison, and Nate Allison. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lillian Polich and his aunt, Elma Martini.

Services will be held on Saturday October 14, at 11:30 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish in Irvine, California, with a reception immediately following at the Tustin Ranch Golf Club.Gary will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Pacific View Memorial Park in Newport Beach, California.
