George Kalman Kopjak passed away on September 7, 2019 at his home in Dana Point, CA after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer.
George was born in Vils, Austria on April 4, 1948. His family moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1951 where he and his four siblings grew up. He obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Cal Poly Pomona in 1985. He retired from CALTRANS in 2009 after 37 years of service. He was a hard working, kind and generous man who always put his family first.
George was a loving husband, dedicated father, caring brother and generous friend. He was proud of his sons and took great joy in playing with his four grandchildren. He also enjoyed projects in his garage, volunteering at the Marine Corps Mechanized Museum in Camp Pendleton, camping, jeeping, and shooting guns in the desert with his friends.
George is survived by his wife of 43 years, Angie, sons Andrew and Matt, and four grandchildren, Katherine, James, Jane and Luke.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on October 12th at The Shoreline Church in San Clemente, CA.
